About Myron Covington

Myron “Cov” Covington II has been teaching at Washtenaw Community College for over a decade! Myron followed in the footsteps of his grandmother, mother and father to make education his career and passion! In August, 2021, Myron was elevated to a full-time faculty member here at Washtenaw Community College. As an academic, Myron teaches communication courses in hopes of imparting his real-life experiences from working as a manager with The Kroger Company and teaching from other local colleges, K-12 school districts and correctional facilities.

Myron believes in ‘open inquiry’ in his classes and strives to connect course content to everyday individuals and matters. Myron is also an advocate for student learning and professional development. Myron teaches the following courses:
*Public Speaking
*Interpersonal Communication
*Intercultural Communication
*Family Communication
*Small Group Communication

When Myron is not teaching or thinking about teaching, he enjoys his time in the Ann Arbor/Detroit-Metro area with his wife Shira and their four compelling children Maxwell, Harrison, Madison, and Savannah.
