About Carl Weckerle
Carl Weckerle is the Dean of Academic Services and Support at Washtenaw Community College, where he leads a range of academic and technological services. In his role, Carl focuses on promoting innovation in teaching, learning, and faculty development. He oversees key departments, including the CiTL, Online Learning, Learning Resources, Curriculum and Assessment, and Media Services. His leadership emphasizes enhancing technology integration, developing quality online programs, and supporting faculty professional development.
With over 20 years of experience in higher education, workforce development, and K-12 education, Carl has held a variety of roles, including director, consultant, training director, faculty member, instructional designer, and teacher. Throughout his career, Carl has been committed to advancing educational opportunities through accessibility, technology integration, curriculum design, and online learning.
Carl holds a Master of Education in Instructional Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Wayne State University. He has completed all Ph.D. coursework in the Educational Psychology and Educational Technology (EPET) program at Michigan State University. He continues to contribute his expertise as part of advisory groups in higher education and K-12 sectors.
