Associate in Arts, Criminal Justice (AACJ)
Washtenaw Community College (WCC) has collaborated with several colleges and universities to provide a transfer pathway from WCC’s Criminal Justice program to a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice at participating universities. Earning an Associate Degree
WCC students must complete all of the following course and degree requirements to earn an Associate in Arts. Regular meetings with an advisor are strongly recommended to stay on track for graduation and facilitate transfer. Degree Requirements
To complete the Associate in Arts Degree and the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA) General Education Requirements, these credits should be met according to the following distribution:
- English Composition: ENG 111: Composition I (4 credits)
- Second Course in English Composition or One course in Communication: ENG 226: English Comp. II (3 credits)
- Mathematics: MTH 160: Basic Statistics (4 credits)
- Natural Sciences: Two courses from the MTA approved list. (from two different disciplines; including one w/a lab)
- Social Sciences: PSY 100: Intro to Psychology and SOC 100: Principles of Sociology
- Humanities and Fine Arts: COM 102: Interpersonal Communication (3 credits) and one course from MTA approved list (not COM)

- ANT 201: Cultural Anthropology (3 credits) (MTA)
- CJT 144 or CJT 170 (3 credits)
- CJT 111 (3 credits) or CJT 156 (4 credits)
- CJT 120, CJT 160, CJT 209, CJT 208, CJT 223, CJT 224 (18 credits)
- Additional electives as needed to earn the 60 credits required for an Associate in Arts degree.
There is an articulation agreement (transfer agreement) between WCC, and Madonna and EMU that provide WCC students with a transfer pathway that allow 80 credits or more to transfer towards your bachelor’s degree.
