From Washtenaw Community College to Harvard University, Lourena De Abreu owes her achievements to more than simply good grades.The opportunity to dig into leadership roles in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, the Black Student Union — even the WCC softball team — helped De Abreu sharpen critical soft skills.

After year of university in D.C., WCC alumna lands prestigious Detroit internship

Since May 2023, Kaelyn Collins moved from her home in Ypsilanti to Washington, D.C., for a busy freshman year at prestigious HBCU Howard University and then spent this summer as an executive intern with Rock Ventures in Detroit.
