Each year, we welcome about 12 students to the Mammography (CPMAM) program for a Fall semester start. In addition, approximately six alternate candidates are selected in case any seats become available before the program begins.
This is a full-time program. Part-time enrollment is not available.
This program follows WCC’s Limited Enrollment Admission Process for determining admissions.

- Priority Deadline for WCC Radiography Students: Monday, May 11, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
- Final Deadline for All Applicants: Early August 2026
All WCC Radiography students with outstanding admission requirements at the time of application, must complete and verify all admission requirements by Friday, August 14, 2026 to maintain their status.
We recommend submitting your application before the final day to avoid last-minute issues. If you have questions or encounter issues after office hours, staff may not be available to help. Exceptions to the deadline will not be made.
Next Admissions Cycle: Fall 2027 semester. The application is expected to open in mid-April 2027, with an anticipated deadline in early August 2027.
Application Exceptions
WCC Radiography students expecting to graduate in Spring/Summer 2026 will receive priority consideration if they submit their program application by the priority deadline. These applicants will be considered for a seat based on the date their application is received, even if final admission requirements are still in progress during the Spring/Summer 2026 semester. Students who apply after the priority deadline will forfeit their priority status.
After the priority deadline, all other applicants will be considered on a first-qualified basis until all seats are filled.
Limited Enrollment & Competitive Admission Processes
This program follows WCC’s Limited Enrollment Admission Process. Applicants must meet all admission requirements. Qualified candidates are admitted on a first-qualified basis until all accepted and alternate seats are filled.
If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the available seats for two or more consecutive admission cycles, WCC reserves the right to implement its Competitive Admission Process for future admissions.

Students must be a graduate of the following accredited program:
- Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) - (Verify Program)
Students must submit appropriate documentation verifying completion of one of the following:
- Graduate of an Accredited Program: Submit official transcripts that include the graduation date and confirm your program’s accreditation using the link above. No documentation is required for former WCC graduates (verified internally).
- Currently Enrolled WCC Radiography Students: No documentation is required (verified internally). Must verify program completion by the date specified in the application deadline section above.
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registration Card showing primary certification in the following:
- Radiography (R) - (Verify Credentials)
Students must submit appropriate documentation verifying completion of one of the following:
- Registration Card or Credential Verification: Submit your current registration card or documentation verifying your credentials using the link above.
- Currently Enrolled WCC Radiography Students: Submit your current registration card or documentation verifying your credentials using the link above by the date specified in the application deadline section above.
Please note:
It is strongly recommended that WCC graduates schedule and sit for their ARRT Certification Exam within the two weeks following the completion of their program.
The total cumulative grade point average (GPA) of all schools in which you completed your program discipline courses and that provide any required program prerequisite courses will be included in the calculation.
Students must submit appropriate documentation verifying completion of one of the following:
- Program Graduate: Submit official transcripts that include the graduation date and final program GPA. No documentation is required for former WCC graduates (verified internally).
- Currently Enrolled WCC Radiography Students: No documentation is required (verified internally). Must meet minimum cumulative GPA after program graduation and by the date specified in the application deadline section above.
Please note:
Students who graduated from a hospital-based program in partnership with another college/university must submit official transcripts from both.

Additional Information
All Mammography (RAD) courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C/2.0, unless otherwise specified.
Students must have reliable transportation to clinical education sites which may require a commute of up to one hour.
Students who are dismissed from the program may not be eligible to reapply to the program.
Entrance Requirements: After Admission & Before Program Start
Upon admission, the following entrance requirements must be successfully completed in order to begin the program. Failure to meet or comply with these requirements will result in forfeiting your status in the program.
Detailed instructions and deadlines will be provided to students who are offered acceptance or alternate status after admission decisions are released.
Students must confirm their seat in the program by the deadline provided in their acceptance and alternate candidate notification email.
Attendance at the mandatory program orientation session. Details will be included in the program acceptance and alternate candidate notification emails.
Accepted students are required to register and remain registered in all first-semester courses by the specified deadline. Detailed registration instructions will be provided by the department.
First-semester courses include:
- RAD 270 (Principles of Mammography)
- RAD 271 (Mammography Quality Control (QC))
- RAD 273 (Mammography Clinical Education)
Students are required to submit health records and complete a full background check paid to an outside vendor selected by the College.
- Students who have been charged or convicted of a misdemeanor or felony must complete the Ethics Pre-Application Review process with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). They must receive official clearance from ARRT before they are eligible to take the national radiography board exam. Documentation proving eligibility must be submitted upon acceptance to the program, as it is required during the criminal background check to maintain their status. - Failure to receive an acceptable criminal background check/fingerprinting at any time will result in dismissal from the program.
- Our clinical partners require proof of immunity to many transmissible diseases, including MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TB, Influenza, COVID-19 and others for clinical experiences with our agency partners.
