A $3 million National Science Foundation grant has been awarded to Washtenaw Community College (WCC) and five other colleges and universities through MI-LSAMP (Michigan Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation) to increase equity in STEM fields.

He was a driving force behind its formation, served on its Board of Trustees for more than a quarter century, helped establish the WCC Foundation, and was a constant supporter and valued contributor to the WCC mission,” said WCC President Dr. Rose B. WCC is one of 37 colleges and universities throughout the state recognized with the top-level Gold certification, meaning the school has met at least six of seven criteria. In all, 63 institutions earned either Gold, Silver or Bronze status from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency.
